Hi there, I have a persistent issue with Outlook 64 bit crashing on a clients PC and I'm now completely out of idea's on what could be the root cause of this. The clients PC is running Windows 7 64 Bit Professional with SP1 and is up to date. Hi Mike, Thank for your input, my very last attempt on this was to create a new Windows Profile for the user to try and circumvent any issues caused by old Profile data in the Registry. I had high hopes on this correcting the issue but the problem still persists for the User. Thinking about your number one suggestion I never checked that all the Office Registry Keys were deleted once we'd uninstalled Office from the PC as part of the troubleshooting.
I'll be giving 'senthil1kumar' suggestion a go (installing 32 bit Office on the PC) to see if the issue persists but I will check for stale Registry Keys left over from uninstalling the current install of Office 64 bit on the PC. Just thought I'd post back. Having this issue again, but this time with another update. Exact same symptoms as the first, causing outlook start-up issues on Windows 7 (64-bit) in Outlook 20120 (64-bit). Removed this update and my outlook started normally again. These darn updates are quite annoying. Removed KB2687623 this time around.
Good luck with your issue. My suggestion to you that you remove any Outlook update from Windows Updates (just do a search in Control Panel Programs and Features View Installed Updates, for '2010 Outlook' in the search bar - and remove any correlated results/updates), as a starting point to correcting your issue. Served me justice twice already.
Jan 27, 2011 - If you have just installed Microsoft Office 2010 or Microsoft Outlook 2010, Outlook would crash at startup. If you look at the Windows event.
